Tajika squared her shoulders, hiding the fact she was shaking on the inside. To face the council was something no one did lightly, and the thought was rather intimidating to be honest. Still, she at least had something that would make rejection sting less if they didn't accept her petition to join The Chosen. Just like her father, she could go into mining. Still, he had given Tajika some advice that could serve her well. Remain calm above all else.
As it was her chance to stand before them, she took a deep breath, trying to keep her gaze level. It took some effort to keep from twisting her fingers in her brown hair out of nervous habit. "I am Tajika, daughter of Tem, aged 19. I am petitioning to be considered one of The Chosen." Mentally, she was proud. Her voice hadn't quivered at all to give away her hidden nerves.

The council members waved her out to discuss the petition. It took only a few short minutes before the welcomed her back in.
Zircona smiled at the girl, her hands folded on the table in front of her, "This council hereby finds Tajika Tem worthy and able to be one of The Chosen. Your parents are honorable workers in Muor, and it seems that they have passed this trait to you. You are a hard worker, and a seemingly honest individual, in the correct age bracket, and again seemingly mature. You shall be placed on the list of The Chosen, and at the next available dragon clutch you shall receive an egg."
The councilman next to Zircona said cheerily, "And because we have to mention this by law, if, for any reason between now and a dragon hatching you are found in capable of riding, you shall be removed from The Chosen, but don't worry dear, it hasn't happened in half a century. You will be summoned at the next dragon hatching. You are excused, and congratulations!"
